Scam prevention seminars hosted by Rep. Swanson set for Monmouth and Alexis

Illinois State Representative Daniel Swanson will host two seminars on scam prevention tomorrow in Monmouth and Alexis. The events are organized in partnership with the Illinois Attorney General’s office, local law enforcement, Midwest Bank, Farmers State Bank of Western Illinois, and WRAM radio.

The first seminar is scheduled at the Warren County History Museum, 238 S. Sunny Lane in Monmouth, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The second session will take place at the Alexis Community Center, 205 W. Palmer Avenue in Alexis, from 11 a.m. to noon.

Swanson said, “Tomorrow morning I am hosting a pair of seminars on how to avoid being scammed. These events are in cooperation with the Illinois Attorney General’s office, local law enforcement, Midwest Bank, Farmers State Bank of Western Illinois and WRAM radio. Stop by and find out how to spot a scam and what you can do if you or a loved one is being scammed.”

Both events are free and open to the public.

Swanson was elected as a Republican to represent the state's 71st House District in 2023, succeeding Donald L. Moffitt.
